Borrowing concepts from the seminal work, Poem for Tables, Chairs and Benches, etc. by La Monte Young, this performance is a modern interpretation of the 1960 minimalist sound piece. Using 4 contact microphones, 1 omnidirectional microphone and 9 IKEA folding chairs, Maddie creates live audio feedback from her movements and interaction with chairs, which is sent to electronic musician, Michael Bailey who processes the signal through computer software before forwarding the signal to 4 transducers, each fixed on an IKEA folding chair.

Chair Dance was performed on October 21, 2017 at Icebox Project Space. Accompanied Live Synthesis by Michael Bailey.
