Tapping Through Routine presents a mise-en-scène using choreographed and improvised movements and common household objects. They are amplified using pickups to simultaneously transform the objects into musical instruments. Hewitt's physical interaction with each object produces the foundation for an electronic composition. Her movements are mirrored by the time signatures, pitch, and key of altered notes and embellished directly by using sound techniques. The result is a sonic accompaniment escaping harmony.

The performance took place March 12, 2016 at La Cabine in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

Concept and performance by Maddie Hewitt.
Live audio processing by Geoffrey Veyrines.
